Pre-arrival Requirements

Vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

  • 1. A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
  • 2. A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination
    • Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
    • Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.

Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

  • 1. A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.

On Arrival Requirements

Upon arrival in Thailand, all travellers must undergo screening upon entry including body temperature check, and present the required documents to the immigration and health control officer to carry out the inspection. 

The vaccinated travellers will be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom - for arrivals by land using a boder pass, they will be allowed to stay in the kingdom for no longer than 3 days and within specified areas only.

Likewise, unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers who have proof of a negative result from an RT-PCR test or professional ATK within 72 hours of travel will be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom.

The unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers without a negative test result within 72 hours of travel are required to follow the public health instructions and guidelines as deemed appropriate by the Health Control officer at the point of arrival. All expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the travellers.

While in Thailand

  • While in Thailand, both vaccinated and unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers are advised to strictly follow the health and safety standards. Travellers who are experiencing COVID-like symptoms should get tested. If testing positive, they must get the appropriate medical treatment.

How much is travel insurance including covid insurance for travelling in Thailand ?

There are different levels of coverage that are available when you put your details. Prices will depend on length of travel and age of applicant. 

What about asymptomatic cover?

As of 15/02/2022, For the insured clients who have been diagnosed with COVID- 19 but are classified as asymptomatic patients , they will not be considered “inpatient” per the guidelines stipulated by the Ministry of Public Health. To be an “ inpatient” in a hospital or hospitel, they must have medical necessity and medical standards in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Public Health for any of the following:

  1. When the fever is higher than 39 degrees Celsius for more than 24 hours
  2. Respiratory Rate 25 times faster per minute in adults
  3. Oxygen saturation is less than 94 %
  4. Diseases that have changed or need to closely monitor the symptoms at the discretion of the physician
  5. For children, if they have difficulty breathing, lethargy, or eat less

If the patient does not have any of the above symptoms and being treated as a patient in a hospital or hospitel - companies will not cover cost for quarantine/isolation anymore.

Allianz : Asymptomatic quarantine is not included in the coverage - medical necessity is needed for coverage. Preventive care or diagnostic testing (vaccines, PCR, masks, administrative requirements, quarantine/isolation expenses even at a hospital are not covered). However if medical treatment is facilitated, then the policy will cover you up to the stated amount on the insurance policy.

Can dates be changed once I purchased a policy ?

Yes you can! You can request for a date change with us manually via our email contact channel at support@checkdi.com

Can I cancel my policy or get a refund if I changed my mind or I am not traveling to Thailand anymore ?

Yes you can! You can cancel your insurance policy if the effective date of your policy hasn't started yet. Please supply us with cancellation documents if you have cancelled your flight or trip. However a 5% cancellation fee will be applied from the insurer.

I made a mistake in the policy, can I change my details on the policy ?

Yes you can! Please email us directly at support@checkdi.com

Are there any age restriction ?

Allianz only covers upto 69 years old. 

Tune only covers upto 75 years old. 

For clients over 75 we can only supply covid only plans. 

How long will I get my policies after I purchased them from your website ?

You should be getting an Email containing your policy (with covid certificate) instantly from our website. If you are over 75 it can take upto 1-2 working days. 

Are there any 24/7 assistance in these insurance policies ?

Yes, the 24/7 emergency assistance are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Are there any waiting-periods with these insurance policies ?

No, there is no waiting-period for our insurance policies. If you have fallen ill, you will be covered by these insurance policies under terms and conditions.

Can I extend a policy? If I decided to stay longer?

Yes, please make sure to do it the day before your insurance expires, using the same insurance company you used. If you are not sure what to do, please contact us directly. 

Does the policy cover the cost of ambulance if I need to be transported to a hospital ?

Yes, all medical bills related to medical necessity will be covered under the policy.
